Cadence expands Arm agreement for EDA tool verification
Electronic design automation giant Cadence Design Systems Inc is expanding its collaboration with Arm to provide tools for a fast path to tapeout.
electronics360.globalspec.com/, Jun. 07, 2023 –
Using Cadence's digital and verification tools and Arm's Total Compute Solutions 2023 (TCS23) the tools will help advance mobile device silicon success, the companies said.
With TCS23 – which includes the Arm Cortex-X4, Arm Cortex-A720 and Cortex-A520 CPUS and Immortalis-G720, Mali-G720 and Mali-G620 GPUs – Cadence delivers comprehensive RTL-to-GDS digital flow rapid adoption kits (RAKs) for 3 nm and 5 nm nodes to help users achieve higher power and performance goals.
The tools used for the Arm TCS23 include:- Cadence's Cerebrus intelligent chip explorer
- Genus synthesis solution
- Modus DFT software solution
- Innovus implementation system
- Quantus extraction solution
- Tempus Timing Signoff solution and ECO option
- Voltus IC power integrity solution
- Conformal equivalence checking and Conformal low power
Arm said it used the Cadence verification low to validate its TCS23 GPU and CPU mobile reference platforms. The flow allows users to improve overall verification throughput and leverage advanced software debug capabilities. Cadence also validated its Cadence Perspec System Verifier, VIP and System VIP tools for the TCS23-based designs to accelerate time to market when assembling TCS23-based system-on-chips (SoCs).
The virtual and hybrid platform reference designs include the Arm Fast Models to enable early software development and verification through the Cadence Helium Studio as well as the Cadence Palladium and Protium platforms, Cadence said.
